IOWAN PERISHED IN FLOOD CAUSED BY BREAKING DAM Fort Dodge, Ia., March 17.—(AP)—The body of Robert Kadarabek, of Fort Dodge, missing since Tuesday in the St. Francis dam disaster, was found and positively identified by Mrs. Stella McCauley, of Los Angeles, a friend of the Kadarabek family, his parents were notified today. Kadarabek worked for the Southern California Edison company and lived in a construction camp near the dam. The body will be returned here for burial. FARMER AIDS WITH WASHING; NEARLY LOSES HIS LIFE Cleghorn, Ia., March 17.—Special: Albert Kinzel, farmer living south of Cleghorn, was overcome with gas and narrowly escaped death. Mr. Kinzel was assisting with the week's washing and while at work suddenly was overcome by gas fumes from the exhaust pipe. His wife found him unconscious and worked with her husband for some time before he regained consciousness. Mr. Kinzel is suffering intensely with pain in his lungs as a result of the experience. WHITING CONSISTORY CLUB HOLDS ITS YEARLY REUNION Whiting, Ia., March 17.—Special: Monona county consistory club held its annual spring reunion here last night. About 100 members of the club attended. J. E. McNamara paid a tribute to the memories of E. M. Cassiday, E. L. Crew and T. B. Lutz, members of the club, who died during the past year. Addresses were made by O. J. Hoberg, J. A. Prichard, W. B. Whiting and Henry Shull. MORE THAN HALF IOWA FARMERS HAVE TELEPHONES Des Moines, Ia., March 17.—(AP)—Slightly more than half the Iowa farms have telephones, or about one telephone for each eight persons living on farms, while city and town people have one telephone for each four persons, statistics in the Iowa department of agriculture show. It is believed that Iowa leads other states in telephones on farms. Will Vote On Franchise. Emmetsburg, Ia., March 17.—Emmetsburg will vote on the question next Wednesday of granting a franchise to the Municipal Utilities company of Des Moines. If the franchise is granted, the company will build a complete electric light and power plant with a distribution system. No bonds will be voted but the plant will be paid for out of earnings and then become the property of the city and it is estimated that it will require about eight years to do this. Emmetsburg now is served by the Iowa Public Service company. Resigns County Office. Carroll, Ia., March 17.—Special: J. J. Kempker, Carroll, deputy county treasurer of Carroll county for 10 years and former county recorder and county treasurer, has resigned his position on account of ill health, and he and Mrs. Kempker will move to Fort Dodge, where they will live with a son, Joseph Kempker. Mr. Kempker will return to Carroll in April to assist County Treasurer T. J. Ryan with spring reports. Files Large Mortgages. Logan, Ia., March 17.—Special: Harrison County Recorder Faith has received three mortgages for record that ran into big figures. They were placed on record in connection with the recent reorganization of the Chicago and Milwaukee railroad, and total $140,000,000. The Milwaukee has only about seven miles of road across the southeastern part of the county, but the mortgages have to be filed in every county it touches. Galva Bank Receiver Named.
