To Our Depositors We extend our thanks to our friends for the courteous and loyal manner in which they have met the restrictions imposed upon us by the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under which we have been permitted to carry on a limited banking service since reopening on Wednesday, March 8, 1933. Just as far as possible under the restrictions, we have provided funds to depositorsβ€” "where absolutely necessary to meet the needs of this community for food, medicine, or other necessities of life, for the relief of distress or for the payment of usual salaries and wages, or for the necessary current expenditures for the purpose of maintaining employment or for other similar essential purposes but not for the purpose of hoarding or unnecessary withdrawal of currency." We shall welcome the opportunity to relax the restrictions imposed upon us, and yet we feel that our friends will be just as patient in any delay as they have been during the past few days. The Secretary of the Treasury has imposed no restrictions upon deposits received after March 8; we therefore invite you to use our deposit facilities, subject to your withdrawal in person.
