RUN ON DALLAS BANK WITHSTOOD Estimated More Than Million Dollars Withdrawn By Depositors Yesterday By Associated Press Dallas, Texas May 11.-The Security National bank withstood a run here today holding open three hours after the usual closing time to accommodate depositors whose confidence had grown shaky because of rumors of unknown origin. No exact figures were available tonight, but officers of the bank said deposits today totaled roughly $1,700,000, and that withdrawals were about $500,00 less than that. It is stated that no large deposits were withdrawn, but that on the other hand many Dallas business men had increased their dep sits or opened new accounts as marks of confidence. When the bank opened its doors this morning a few depositors were lined up. By noon hundreds jammed the bank and filled the streets about the building. A heavily guarded federal reserve bank truck carrying a large sack of currency was driven through the crowds and the sack opened inside the bank. A speech was made by E. H. R. Green, Terrell, Texar who deposited $100,000. Judge W. F. Ramsey, chairman of the board of the seventh district federal reserve bank, made a speech and said there was no basis for the rumor which brought the crowd and that "there are $30,000,000 in the vaults of the federal reserve bank of Dalla and every dollar of it is behind the Security National bank."

Dallas Bank Normal Again. By Associated Press. DALLAS May 13.-Buslaess had vir. tually returned to normal today at theSecurity National Bank which was the victim of a "run" yesterday. Assurances from other banks and business institutions of the city that the bank full backing served to restore confidence in its selveney. and many persons who withdrew accounts during the Clurry. redeposited their funds today. ORIGIN received tele grams from thing parts of the country, offering congratulations on the manner it which the bank had with. stood the ordeal.
Bank runs are almost always and everywhere a deterioration of bank fundamentals.
But not for you.
You are the measure-zero exception: great fundamentals, solid bank, and yet the Diamond Dybvig fairy spread its rumor. Depositors woke up. Your collateral was not prepositioned. The Clearinghouse had it for you.
Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to jail… or worse.
