Three Forks Bank Closes Three Forks Herald: By order of the board of directors of the American National Bank that institution closed it's doors last Friday morning, "pending negotiations looking to a consolidation of the two banks." We have no definate information, but only hope some such move could be arranged to the mutual satisfaction of both concerns. But in any event The Herald hopes the suspension will be of short duration.

RECEIVER TO BE APPOINTED SOON; STANDING OF BOOKS HAS NOT BEEN LEARNED: MANY PEOPLE CALL TO GAIN INFORMATION After the closing of the American National Bank of Three Forks, the bank has been visited frequently by persons financially interested. Last Saturday G. B. Eckles of Helena, representing the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co. Mr. Eckles stated to a representative of the American on the streets of Three Forks while both were anxiously trying to get in touch with some person who could give them some information regarding the bank. Mr. Eckles said that his company had guaranteed $10,000 worth of County Bonds in the American National Bank, and that during the last year his company had lost $250,000 by the various failures of banks throughout the state. A Bank Examiner was in charge however, at the time Mr. Eckles and the American representative were seeking admission but out of town, therefore the many callers were unable to secure any information, but just before going to press we were able to get the examiner on the phone, who gave his name as W. H. Baldridge, who informs us that a receiver would be appointed in the near future and we could tell our troubles to him. Mr. Baldridge refused to make any statement regarding the condition he found the bank in but admitted that he had learned of the indictment of the former president when it was the First National.
