20 BANKS FREED OF CONTROL BY CONSERVATOR By Associated Press. WASHINGTON, Feb. 16.—Twenty national banks which had been in conservators' hands were said Friday by Comptroller of the Currency O'Connor to have been licensed and opened or reopened during the first 10 days of February. Frozen deposits involved totaled $17,149,000 and unrestricted deposits $1,628,000. The reorganization plans for nine banks were approved during the same period, O'Connor said.
