FREEHOLDERS TO AID BANK REOPENING Will Purchase Stock of Liberty National in Guttenberg in Which County Has $25,000. In order to expedite the opening of Liberty National Bank, Guttenberg, the Board of Freeholders yesterday authorized the purchase of 313 shares at $20 a share of the bank stock amounting to $6,260. Clerk Thomas J. Wasser stated the county has on deposit there $25,000 and that by investing in the stock at least 75 per cent. of the county's money will be made available. Recent legislative action authorizes this procedure. A release for $4,000 bank taxes for the last half of 1931 was authorized for the Steneck Trust Co. Emergency expenditure of $1,716 for repairs to the Clay St. bridge over the Passaic River was authorized. The approval of the Essex section of the Hudson-Essex Bridges Commission in this matter was recorded. By resolution, the board congratulated Dr. S. B. Pollak, superintendent of the County Sanitarium for Tubercular Patients, on the fact that his exhibit at a health exhibition at Atlantic City received first award and that an invitation has been accepted by Dr. Pollak to take the same exhibit to the National Tuberculosis Association at Toronto. Stillman, Delehanty and Ferris were awarded the contract at $3,750, the lowest bid, for curbs for the Park Avenue viaduct. A warrant for $10,000 on account of the annual appropriation for the County Mosquito Commission was authorized.
