CLOSED WEBSTER BANK GIVES RECEIVER'S CHECKS WEBSTER, Dec 17โ€”About 20 percent of the 5600 depositors in the closed Webster National Bank cashed receiver's checks today. A steady stream filed into the bank from 9 a m until 3 p m. The doors closed at 3 o'clock and cashiers continued to pay off those in the bank until 4. Although the exact figures were not available, officials at the bank estimated the disbursement would exceed $65,000. Payments will continue until all the checks are cashed.
