The National Bank of New York. By Southern Associated Press. NEW YORK, May 24-Bank - Examiner William H. Kimball, who took charge of the National Bank deposit yesterday, said this morning there was & fair chance of the appointing of a receiver being avoided. The depositors, stockholders and directors will meet this afternoon to adopt a plan for the winding up of the affairs of the bank. If they can agree and fix upon a committee to take charge of the affairs the receivership can be avoided. Otherwise some one will have to be appointed to close up the business of the bank. President Ransom is still hopeful of making a good showing for the stockholders.
