The Department of Agriculture will immediately prepare a list of articles imported into this country in which boracic and other acids are supposed to exist. This action is the first step taken by the Government looking to retaliation for the German prohibition on the importation of meats containing horacic acid. Arthur J. Simpson, a book-keeper, employed by the Warman, Black, Chamberlain Company, livestock commission brokers, at the Union Stock yards, was arrested at Paoli, Ind., and brought to Indianapolis, Ind., on the charge. of forgery. Detectives who have been working on the case, said they understood from members of the firm that Simpson's shortage is anywhere from $30,000 to $70,000.
