The teacher whose statement to her pupils that a certain bank in the city was on a shaky foundation is believed to have caused a run on the bank, was found dead in the gas filled garage of Claude Thompson. Thompson, in the car beside the girl, was also dead. The teacher was Miss Lena Elaine Veit, 24 years old.
The girl did not live to know that the bank had failed. She and Thompson had evidently been asphyxiated by the fumes from the car in the closed garage sometime Friday night.

The teacher whose statement to her pupils that a certain bank in the city was on a shaky foundation is believed to have caused a run on the bank was found dead in the gas filled garage of Claude Thompson. Thompson, in the car beside the girl, was also dead. The teacher was Miss Lena Elaine Veit, 24 years old.
