MISCELLANEOUS. SUSPENDED. Epringfield, Mass., Jan. 10.-The Great Barrington savings bank has suspended, pending the investigation by the state bank commissioners. The depos its are $408,000 assets, $414,000. Among the assets are $108,000 in bank stock, $250,000 loaned on realiestate, $45,000 on personal property, $30,000 in other loans, and in cash, and $5,789 in real estate. A NEW RULE. St. Louis, Jan. 10.-A new rule went into effect to day, requiring the buyers of, all grain to pay for the first ten days' elevator storage.

AMERICAN PRINT WORKS. FALL RIVER, Mass., March 27.-At meeting of the stockholders of the American Print Works this afternoon it was voted to ratify the action taken by the creditors yesterday. MINERS ON A DESPERATE STRIKE. CINCINNAII, March 27.-About 400 striking miners gathered at Pomeroy, Ohio, yesterday, and forced the miners of a few mines that were working to join them on a strike for higher wages. A QUARREL IN A BANK. BOSTON, March 27.-In the Supreme Court to-day a temporary injunction was granted in the case of the Great Barrington Savings Bank, which has been in operation for a year under the stay law. This application was owing to the long existing quarrel in the management. THRASHED HIS MAN AND THEN GAVE HIM $100. BUFFALO, N. Y., March 27.-The prize-tight between Arthur Chambers, of New.York, and John Clark, of Philadelphia, for $1,000 and the light-weight championship, took place to-day at Navy Island. It was won by Chambers, 137 rounds having been tought. Chambers gave Clark $100 after winning the battle. ANXIETY ABOUT GEORGE D. WHITTLE. LYNN, Mass., March Developments which have taken place regarding George D. Whittle's affairs have caused his friends great uncasin 388, and they ask that judg. meat be suspended until the truth shall be evident through critical investigation. Hisprement whereabouts are unknown even by his most intimate friends. WAR ON THE LOUISIANA LOTTERY. NEW-ORLEANS, March 27.--The Governor signed the bill repealing the charter of the Louisiana State Lottery to-day. The officers of the lottery company claim that the business of the company will not be interfered with as the company has taken measures to test the constitutionality of the law in the courts of the United States.
