BANK RECEIVER NAMED Assistant Commissioner to Take Over Affairs of Central State in K. C. K. Joseph S. McMahon today was appointed receiver of the Central State bank, 15 Central avenue, Kansas City, Kas., by Carl J. Peterson, Kansas bank commissioner. Mr. McMahon has been in charge of the bank as special assistant bank commissioner since the institution closed February 5. Mr. McMahon said today enough assets have been liquidated to pay 80 per cent of the deposits and that the remainder will be paid from the state guaranty fund. Blanks will be available Monday by which the depositors may prove claims and thus share in dividends. The Central State bank closed a few days after the failure of the C. D. Williams Grain company. The bank is said to have advanced $110,000 to the grain company for notes, bills of lading and warehouse receipts. The bank was organized in 1904. Charles E. Lawrence and C. A. Geischi had been president and cashier since the organization.
