PLEASANT HILL TUESDAY Longanecker To Succeed kins Is Put After being closed for period weeks following the suicide of Perkins, cashier. the Pleasant Hill Banking company will open its doors for business Tuesday morning at o'clock. Longanecker, former assistant cashier, occupy the post left vacant by Mr. Perkins. According the report made pub. lic Saturday H. Scott, state perintendent of banks. the attributed to the dead cashier was $26,440.80. This amount has been taken care of by surety bond paid the American Surety company of York City on Mr. Perkins by the part of the short payment the surplus the bank. Scott states that the capital of the Pleasant Hill bank is in no way impaired and that the affairs of the institution are now in good shape. While the official report shows loss of only this does not represent the entire loss to the bank and board of directors. Loss occuring from bad loans and mortgages not included in the report of the state officials. Just what this amount is, has not been made known and probably never will be. The directors were forced to make each loan "good" before the state inspectore would consent to re-opening of the Pleasant Hill people are anticipat ing on the bank when Tuesday morning. This opens be due largely to the fact that the opening falls on the same day that final payment of taxes can be made. Many citizens the village and New ton township have not paid their sessments all money was tied up in the Pleasant Hill bank.
