Chancery Sales Yesterday. A large number of capitalists and prominent citizens were attracted to the courthouse at 11 o'clock yesterday to attend the sales of Clerk and Master M. L. Patterson, with the veteran I. Joseph as crier. There were four sales in the case of Robt. Ewing, receiver, VS. Exchange and Deposit Bank. The brick building on Gay street, formerly occupied by the Exchange and Deposit and Commercial Banks, was bid off by T. H. Heald, at $3,600. The brick dwelling. known as the Kennedy property, on State street, was bid off by Wm. M. Baxter, at $1,400. The frame dwelling adjoining, known as the Scott or Bolli property, was bid off by E. Bolli, for $800. The bank building on Gay street, occupied until recently by the E. T. National Bank, was bid off by T. H. Heald, for $5,600. The Levi McCloud farm of 200 acres or more, in the 7th district of Knox County, was bid off by Esther Chiles at $2,515. The sales were all made subject to confirmation by the Court at some future term.
