TEXAS BANK CLOSED Two Weeks Slow Run Fatal For F1nancial Institution AUSTIN, Tex., April b.-The Guaranty State bank, at Cleburn. Tex., with $100,000 capital stock and about $550,000 deposits, has been closed, Banking Commissioner J. D. Chapman announced tonight. A twoweeks' slow run, which reduced deposits more than $400,000, following failure of two crops in Johnson county, was responsible for the closing, Commissioner Chapman declared. The bank may reopen within a few days and depositors will be protected by the state guaranty fund, he added.

Cleburne State Bank Closed by Examiner Austin, April 5.β€”The Guaranty State Bank of Cleburne, with $100,000 capital stock and about $550,000 deposits, has been closed by State Bank Examiner H. D. Wallace, it was announced tonight by Banking Commissioner J. D. Chapman. A slow run on the bank for the last two weeks and a failure of crops in Johnson county were responsible for the failure, it is stated. Commissioner Chapman stated that the bank may be reopened in a few days and the depositors protected by the state guarantee fund. The bank was formed at a reorganization in April, 1922, of a former bank which was closed.

Cleburne Bank Closed After Run The Guaranty State bank of Cleburne has been closed, following a slow run lasting two weeks which reduced the amount of its deposits, according to announcement at the state department of banking. The bank was closed by Examiner H. D. Wallace and its affairs taken over by the state banking department. It is expected the bank may be reopened within a few days. The bank is capitalized at $100,000 and had deposits of about $550,000. The heavy withdrawals reduced deposits about $400,000.

Bank Forced To Close By Run AUSTIN, Texas, April 6.β€”Banking commissioner J. D. Champion has closed the Guaranty State bank at Cleburne, Texas, because of inability of the bank to make collections. The bank was capitalized at $100,000 and had $550,000 on deposit. A run on the bank which reduced deposits about $100,000 during the past two weeks, following the almost entire loss of two crops by farmers, was responsible for the closing. It is said the bank will reorganize and reopen soon. Depositors are protected by the state guarantee law.
