PRIVATE BANK FAILS Withdrawal of Funds Leaves Institution in Bad Plight. North Manchester, Ind., June 13.North Manchester is excited over the suspension of the Bank of North Manchester, a private concern established ten years ago. The bank had a paid-up capital of about $20,000 and deposits of $48,000. The deposits were recently $75,000, but withdrawals of funds by depositors and inability to get cash on paper forced the institution to close. The president and cashier are D. T. Krisher and Dayton Harter, respectively. Krisher was the receiver of the defunct First National Bank of North Manchester, which closed in 1893.

CUTS DOWN RECEIVER'S SALARY Indiana Judge Limits Compensation in Bank Case to $2.50 a Day. Goshen, Ind., special: Judge Plummer, of the Wabash Circuit Court, has set a new figure in fixing the compensation of receivers for banks that have failed and his economical view has attracted general attention. Judge Plummer allowed Lewis Signs, receiver of the Bank of North Manchester, $2.50 a day for 100 days' official services. He also limited the attorney's fees to $150.
