Frozen assets was given as the cause. The bank's trouble started two months ago when Wilson Mallory, assistant treasurer of the bank and treasurer of the town of York, died, and a shortage was found in his books of the town. Depositors then lost confidence in the bank, and about two weeks ago the run started. P. J. Kemmeter is president of the bank, a $25,000 institution. Scott Davis, cashier, resigned two weeks ago, but the resignation has not yet taken effect.
