SYMONS URGES BANK RECEIVER Application for receiver for the Upland State Bank today was filed in the Grant superior court by Luther F. Symons, state banking commissioner. Hearing on the application was set for 10 m. Dec. The bank which closed Aug. 1932, is in failing and insolvent condition, according the applicaprepared filed by Atty. tion Gen. James M. Ogden. The bank had deposits of more than $100,000 which more than $30,000 was public funds at the time the directors voted to close the institution for liquidating purposes. E. Leach, former cashier of the bank, was named liquidating agent.

SUIT INVOLVES 2 PROPERTIES Two residential properties in Upland are involved in a suit between Doris Reynolds, receiver for the Upland State Bank, and Holland Brown which will be heard in Blackford circuit court Friday. Continued until Friday, the case was venued from the Grant superior court. It had been scheduled for a hearing here today. The plaintiff in the suit charges that Brown had deeded two Upland properties to his son, Marion Brown, for no consideration and for the purpose of evading payment of a note. The bank receiver had obtained a judgment of $1,138 on September, 1934, against Holland and Ella B. Brown on an unsecured note. In the present action the plaintiff seeks to set aside deeds made by Brown. The bank receivership is represented by Browne and Campbell and the defendant by Connersville and Hartford City attorneys.

(AP) — The Hoosiers of Indiana, starved for a Big Ten football victory, gorged themselves on a 24 to 0 upset triumph over Chicago's Maroons at Stag Field today. The Hoosiers, who had lost to Michigan and Ohio State and had a 6 to 6 tie with Iowa as the high spot of their season, outplayed the Maroons with the exception of a few Dreams of Grid Honors Blasted; Syracuse Beaten Upland, Ind., Nov. 16. — Legal proceedings between Doris Reynolds, receiver for the Upland State Bank, and Holland Brown in which the plaintiff seeks to set aside two deeds made by Brown to his son will be resumed in Blackford circuit court Tuesday. The case was venued from the Grant superior court to Hartford City. It was continued last Friday. Brown is alleged to have deeded two Upland residential properties to his son, Marion Brown, in an attempt to evade payment on a note. The bank receiver had obtained a previous judgement against Brown and his wife. The plaintiff seeks to set aside deeds made by Brown in the present litigation.

UPLAND RECEIVER ACTION TO BE RESUMED IN COURT Upland, Ind., Nov. 18—Legal proceedings in which Doris Reynolds, receiver for the Upland State Bank, seeks to set aside two deeds made by Holland Brown to his son will be resumed in Blackford circuit court Tuesday. The case was venued from Grant county superior court. Brown was alleged to have deeded two residential properties in Upland to his son, Marion Brown, to evade payment on a judgment which the bank receiver had previously obtained.
