Bank's Receiver Named. Orange City, Ia., Dec. 14.—Special: In the matter of the assignment of the assets of the Bank of Northwestern Iowa, of Alton, Ia., and the Northwestern bank of Ireton, on application of creditors, the assignee, Henry Gibbink, was appointed receiver of both banks, the assets of the partnership owning them and their individual property, including several Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota farms, amounting in all to about $50,000. Club Banquets Grid Heroes. Ida Grove, Ia., Dec. 14.—Special: The Ida Grove football team was given a banquet and reception by the Community club. Over 100 were in attendance. Short talks were given by George Witters, former Ida Grove high school, Grinnell college and West Point star football player, Bruce Snell and Coach Norelius. Workman Falls 4 Stories. Cedar Rapids, Ia., Dec. 14.—(AP)—Frank Clark, workman on the 12-story building being erected by the Merchants National bank, fell four stories to the pavement this morning. He suffered a fractured jaw, a broken right leg and other injuries. His condition is serious.

COURT HOUSE NEWS EVENTS OF THE WEEK Bank Receiver Files Ten Petitions Against Bank Debtors Attorneys for Henry Glebink, receiver for the Bank of Northwestern 10 of Alton and Northwestern Bank of Ireton, have filed ten petitions ask ing judgment on promissory notes gainst former patrons of the bank. The receiver has started suit against John Luschen on note for $250.99) gainst John Luschen and Martha Luschen on note for $6538.11; Steve Lemonds, note, $1,611.16; George Ricklefs, note. $591.85; John Korver Sr., note, $779.52; John Korver Sr., and John Korver Jr., note, $167.95: Bartlett, note, $350.24 Hemmingnote, $448.14; Hemmingson and Bertha Hemmingson, note, $4503.George Twillman, note, $256.13. William H. Dirks has brought action in court against H. F. McKeever and others, asking that title to outlot 2, McKeevers addition, Ireton, be quieted in the plaintin. Frank R. Ladwig has petitioned the court asking divorce from his wife, Myrtle M. Ludwig The petition states that they were married at Williamsport, Pa., March 26, 1921, but that the wife deserted him December 15, An order was issued by Judge Butler authorizing the sale notes four Frank Frisbee are gregating $5,000 and one given Ger Dranyom for $3,000. W. Washer, R. J. Hickman and John Westerman were appointed appraisers to value the notes. In the case of Iowa State Bank of Hall William Rons and others an order issued approving final report of receiver and discharging him and leasing his Marriage licenses were issued the past week to the Bekins 27, Sloux City and Nancy M. Slagle 22. Alton: Merle Storts 19 and Bernice Jensen 18, Hawarden; Wm. Van't Hor 28, Hospers, and Nelle Amelia De Valois 25, Boyden Harold Hanser 26, St. Louis, Mo., and Derothy Vande Steeg Orange City: Adrianus Van Bochove 39, Sioux Center, Vogel 30, Mich; Edward Raymond Hulstein 18. Sioux Center and Della Gritters 19, Perkins. The board of supervisors will meet to let contracts next Monday, July 25.

Report Made by Albert Reid Bank Receiver The report filed this week by the receiver for the Northwestern banks Alton and Ireton shows cash balance on hand of $18,419.79, of November 1926. The bulance that time year previous was $19,179.14. The report covers 12 months of the receivership, from November 1027 to November 1928. schedule filed with the report lists the property by the receiver but new estimate value of the real estate made. The report, however, lists good notes held in the Alton bank at $11,027.33. fair notes at $2S2.95 and doubtful at $8486.41. In the Ireton bank the good notes are fair $3300 and doubtful Judgments obtained by the receiver during the year amount to Property owned in Ireton, consisting three dwelling houses. the bank building and barber shop, is to public sale this Saturday afternoon.

SIOUX COUNTY DISTRICT COURT C. Kringle, tax ferret, left last week Friday for Washington, D. C., to see Hoover inaugurated. Marriage Licenses Arthur Miller, 31, Rock Valley, and Josephine Toft, 24, Hudson, S. D. Gerrit Sandbulte, 26, and Mathilda Mouw, 21, both of Rock Valley: Herman L. Mouw, 22, and June Owens, 22, both of Orange City. Joe Sandbulte, 23, Sioux Center, and Johanna Ter Horst, 22, Orange City. Clarence Wolfswinkel, 22, of Mooreton, N. D., and Hattie De Jongh, 19, of Hull. Henry Ter Haar, 24, Maurice, and Grace Van Otterloo, 20, of Rock Valley. Peter Kruizenga, 29; Sioux Center, and Katherine Sas, 24, Orange City. 6,850 Auto Licenses Up to the latter part of February. nearly 6,850 automobile licenses had been issued Sioux county, many more than had been issued last year at this same time. New Cases Filed The following cases have been filed for district court: P. S. Wick & Co. asks judgment of Jas. Dewen on a note of $50. Jos. Bachman & Co. of Granville asks judgment against Ferd Gaul in the sum of $69.95.for merchandise purchased in 1928. Dr. A. L. Fink asks judgment from the same defendant in the sum of $250 for professional services performed in the summer of 1928. Farmers Hall Insurance Asso. of Iowa asks judgment in the sum of $49.78 of A. Jacobs, said amount being assessments due on hall insurance. The same insurance company E H. Den Herder same cause in the sum of $59.26 Travelers Insurance E Co., VS Geo. E. Jeffers, et al. The insurance company asks a special execution of mortgaged property to satisfy a judgment amounting to $18,530.50. Carl Kooren asks judgment in the sum of $489 of M. Vander Sloot. The Farmers Lumber Co. of Rock Valley has supplied the John Kurvink family with coal to the amount of $177.90, and asks judgment for this amount. The court issued an order on February 23 to the receiver of the Hawarden State Bank to pay a 15% dividend to creditors of the bank. The receiver Basked permission to pay the dividend. This makes 30% dividends paid back to depositors of this bank. Receiver's Report The following receiver's report has been filed, showing the condition of the Alton and Ireton Northwestern Banks: Cash on hand January 31, $24, 155.81; receipts during December, $2,775.77; during January, $4,707.14; paid to janitor, $60; telephone, light and repairs, $33.59; receiver's bond, $250 00: receivers' salaries, $600; demand loan, $700; auctioneer's fees, $42.25; insurance, $33.30; other repairs, $12.45; court costs, $13.65. Widows Allowance Orders. for allowance of widow's pension funds were issued to Mrs. Katrina Miller and seven children to the amount of $2.50 per week for each child; to Mrs. Margaret Karr and seven children in the same amount, and Mrs. Florence Rhodes and one child to the amount of $2.00 per week. Probate notices are as follows: In the Frederica Larsen estate, John Anderson appointed administrator. Garretje Korthals estate, Ben J. Meylink, administrator. Ellen M. Stowe estate. Waiter Scott appointed administrator. Effie Spoelstra estate, Lewis Jungers, administrator. John Jungars estate, John W. Jungars appointed guardian. The notice for probating the Henry Vander Marel estate has been issued for April 1 at 10 Mrs. Sam Timmer was a visitor at the Ed Den Harder home in Sionx Center last week.
