The Cost. Atheus, Friday, September 16, 1859. BANK OF WESTON.--This concern is one of the Virginia Free Banks, as it is termed, and is situated in Lewis county, in that North-Western portion of the State where such politicel coin as John Letcher, is above par. The Bank has refused to redeem its issues with gold and silver; and Gov. Wise has issued a proclamation, instructing receivers of the public monies not to receive its issues. Let our East Tennessee friends look out for the bills of this defunct Bank, and refuse them when offered.

NEWS ITEMS. Wednesday, the 19th, was the anniversary of the surrender of Cornwallis. Within five years Indiana has erected 7,000 schools, at an expense of $1,100,000.
