CITIZENS STATE BANK TAKEN OVER Peru, Neb., Jan. 15. (AP)—The state banking department has taken charge of the Citizens State bank here and announced plans to wind up the bank's affairs. The bank has been on a restricted basis since last March. Local officers expect an effort to obtain a federal RFC loan so depositors may be paid a large proportion of their money quickly.

OLD BANK PAYS 45% DIVIDEND Checks Sent to Depositors Saturday Now Being Cashed Here The old Citizens State Bank is this week making to its depositors a payment of 45% of the amount each one had deposited in that bank. The checks were mailed out to the de- positors on Saturday, and were received in Peru and vicinity Sunday and Monday. These checks are cashable at once here in Peru. This gives the depositors nearly one half of the money they had tied up in the old bank for immediate use, and releases several thousand dollars for use in the community. It reflects much credit on the management of Mr. Eiser, the receiver, for his management of the closed bank. The receiver is now arranging with the Reconstruction Finance C. rporation for a government loan on the agests of the bank with which to make another substantial payment to the depositors. the amount of this loan, and the percentage it will enable them to pay, is not yet determined, nor can a time be set for such payment, as these matters are in the hands of federal authorities, and will recieve attention in the regular manner. It is the hope of those charge that a second and large payment can be made in the not distant future.
