DEMAND RECEIVERSHIP OF BANK BE ANNULLED Burwell, Neb., Jan. 23. (AP)—Seven hundred persons attended a mass meeting here yesterday to express demands that state bank officials annul the present receivership of the two Burwell banks, that the First State bank of Burwell be reorganized and that the Farmers bank be allowed to liquidate as officers said had been agreed formerly. Interest in the situation here has become intense. FILES FOR OFFICE Lincoln, Jan. 23. (AP)—Ralph Smith of Lincoln, a former deputy collector of internal revenue in Nebraska, today was listed as a candidate for the republican nomination for secretary of state. He filed yesterday and was the second entry, former Secretary of State Frank Marsh having filed earlier.
