The Weston Bank To Declare Dividend Judge Landis issued a decree on Tuesday ordering a ten per cent dividend from the assets of the defunct Weston State Bank. NEW SUITS FILED IN THE DISTRICT COURT Evald A. Larson, through his attorney C. H. Slama, has filed suit for $870.50 against Lydia Milton for hospital and medical supplies alleged to have been furnished her in Kingsburg, California, from February 3rd, 1930 to June 6, 1930. Larson is a physician in California. In the matter of the estate of John G. Wilson, deceased, petition is filed in district court by J. J. Johnson administrator, asking license to sell real estate to pay debts and other expenses. Chas. H. Slama, attorney. Farmers Co-Operative Co., has filed a petition in district court against Jennie Mays, et al, on Mechanic's lien of $566.11. J. H. Barry, attorney. E. H. Luikart, receiver has filed suit against John L. Cejka, on four notes totalling $1817.67. Bankers Life Insurance Co., have filed a petition of foreclosure against Cyril J. Palensky, et al on $7,913.84 note secured by W½SE¼ Sec. 19, and W½ NE¼, Sec. 30, 16, 5, total 153 acres. Weston Bank Receiver was authorized by a decree of court to accept $31 in cash for certain articles of furniture and fixtures. Court decree that Swedeburg Bank Receivership be authorized to settle $2,000 note of J. J. Johnson for $500 and stock liability for $100 on ten shares of stock. A decree of foreclosure was granted W. M. Davis for $4313.66 against Edward and Hilma Sableman on E½E½SW¼, Sec. 2. A decree of foreclosure was granted Bertie B. Railsback against the same parties on W½E½SW¼, Sec. 2, 14, 8, on $4,313.66. —Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Hanson had as their supper guests on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bader and family, of Fremont and Mr. and Mrs. Nels Hanson and Warren. —Mrs. Orie Daharsh and son, Harvey Daharsh spent Friday at David City.
PAY DIVIDENDS TO DEPOSITORS Lincoln, Sept. 26. (AP)—The state banking department today announced payment of a five percent dividend to depositors in the failed Weston bank. Checks totaling $12,304 were mailed, bringing the total paid from the bank's assets to $86,132, or 35 percent of the depositors.
Myrtle B. Berggren in a petition asks the court for an injunction restraining the Sheriff and the Merchants National Bank from attaching any of 200 acres of land 2 1/2 miles west of Mead on highway 16, or any crops accruing therefrom. The alleged judgment was for $632.50 and was granted to the bank in Shawnee county, Kansas, and transcripted to this county. Joe F. Berggren, attorney. The court decreed that Carl Wiedenbeck has a first lien on one 40 acre tract and Della Simpson a first lien on a second 40 acre tract belonging to Ernest P. Gibson, 1 1/2 miles west of Mead on highway 16. Said land to be foreclosed unless payment is made. The court authorized the receiver of the various banks named below to accept the amount set opposite the names of the following named persons as full settlement of their individual debts to said banks: Bernt E. Johnson, $263.57, Farmers & Merchants Bank of Weston; Bernt E. Johnson, $351.43, Citizens State Bank of Wahoo; Elmer and Emil Bern, $1,000, Citizens State Bank of Wahoo; Axel Bostrom, $75, Malmo State Bank of Malmo. The receiver of the Citizens State Bank was authorized to deed 80 acres of land one mile south and 7 1/2 miles west of Malmo to The Lincoln Joint Stock Land Bank for $200. Said bank having a first mortgage on the land in the amount of $5,911.51. The receiver of the Weston Bank was authorized to accept from Max Dolezal, $18 in cash as full payment on two gas pumps now in receiver's possession. The receiver of the Malmo State Bank was authorized to accept $110 from the Wahoo State Bank in full payment for the following equipment belonging to the defunct Malmo Bank: 1 nest of 50 safety deposit boxes, $50, and 1 Burroughs electric posting machine number, $60. The receiver of the Citizens State Bank was authorized to accept $3500 from Emma and Annette Bostrom as full settlement of their indebtedness. Selma M. Anderson and Amanda Turnwall were decreed to be the owners of a $2500 mortgage on 40 acres of land belonging to Joseph and Cecelia Pecka located 3 miles east of Valparaiso. The Citizens State Bank upon paying all costs in said action is to be released from all liability on account of trust claims of parties to this action. The court ordered the receiver of the State Bank of Touhy to accept a claim of $10,000 from the receiver of the Saunders County National Bank. Said claim based upon misapplications and to have same consideration as other claims.
WHAT IT COSTS TO HANDLE BANKRUPTCY Creditors of the Wahoo Theatre belonging to the Interstate Theatres have received notice that a hearing will be held on the final costs of operating the bankruptcy case of the Interstate Theatres in Federal court. The attorneys want $100 for the services for the creditors and $100 for services for the receiver. G. P. Horn asks $241.12 as receiver, having operated the business selling the assets for $4027.79. GETS FOUR YEARS IN PEN James O'Leary plead guilty Monday to assault upon Harry Beetison at Ashland on July 9th and was sentenced by Judge Landis to four years at hard labor in the State Penitentiary.
