Personal Arthur Morey and John Baker were transacting business in the county seat Tuesday morning. Tracy Knutson recently acquired a Lincoln sedan which he now drives. The following have advanced their subscriptions the past week: Miss Helen Williams, Overton; O. A. Banks, J. W. Davis and L. R. Mattock. Miss Leopold spent the week-end at her home in Hastings. Coach Trail and Miss Sievers visited over the week-end in Kearney. Robert Perry returned to Deweese Monday morning a spending the past two weeks here with his daughter, Mrs. Wendell Burroughs and family. There was no meeting of the local fire department Monday evening due to the illness of Chief Carl Waechter and the absence of Assistant Chief, Alee Theesen, who was out of town. Word comes that Dan Hynes, of Cowles, who was painfully injured recently when his horse he was riding fell and caught his foot beneath its weight, is making satisfactory progress. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Gartner and son, Dean, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Thomas of Franklin, were visiting at the Emery L'Heureux home on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Gartner is an aunt of Mrs. L'Heureux. Friends regret to learn that Mrs. Iverson is again ill and confined to her bed with a return of her previous affliction for which she recently underwent an operation at the Mary Lanning hospital. The American Legion Auxiliary will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday afternoon, April 12th, at the home of Mrs. Millard Marymee. Members are urged to attend. Clarence Hall and family moved recently from Merna to the farm adjoining the Arthur Burge farm on the west, which he will farm this year. Mr. Hall is the owner of the property occupied by the Glenwood Central office. The depositors in the Riverton State Bank which closed a year and a half ago, have received a payment of five per cent, amounting to $4,712, making in all a dividend of 25 per cent, or $23,583.Franklin County Sentinel. Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson and family of St. Francis, Kans., were here during the week visiting among relatives and friends. They were former residents of Bladen. They are moving onto a farm near Kearney. Vaughan Lockhart made a drive to Omaha with his truck Monday. He was accompanied by Emery L'Heureux who went on business. and Floyd Lidgard accompanied him as far as Lincoln where he is visiting relatives.
