CHAPMAN BANK IS CLOSED FOR TIME The Chapman State bank of Chapman closed its doors Tuesday afternoon but is expected to reopen shortly under the provisions of the new law, H.R. 167. There was no run on the bank, reports Cashier D. E. Magnuson, but it was thought advisable to utilize the protective principles involved in the new law. It leaves Chapman with no bank. Attorney Elmer E. Ross of this city is president. One of the casualties of the closing was a broken finger for Vern Riggs. When the bank closed he rushed around to go to Grand Island for change. In the haste to get there before closing hour, someone slammed the car door on his finger. Kenneth Ullstrom of the Merrick County Hatchery visited over Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ullstrom, at Lincoln. Sheriff J. J. Mohr has been ill at his home since Tuesday evening.
