Graf Bank Closed; First In 10 Days The first bank closing which has occurred in Nebraska for the past ten days was reported Saturday by the state bank commissioner's office at the village of Graf in Johnson county. A small institution there, the Bank of Graf, suspended business on action of its officers and directors, who asked the state official to take charge. Deposits were only about $60,000. The bank was capitalized at $20,000, with surplus account of $1,000. The volume of patronage in the community proved too small to enable the bank to do a profitable business. SIDNEY FIRM INCORPORATES. Incorporation papers have been registered with the secretary of state by the Farmers' Union Co-Operative Livestock Shipping association of Sidney. Its articles permit the issuance of stock up to $10,000. The membership includes Ed Weger, R. S. Robertson, Frank Gross, and a number of others.

The state banking department reports payment of $53,000 to depositors in failed banks at Alliance, Graf, Snyder, Creston, Cortland, Irvington. Agricultural statistics show that the number of cattle on feed in Nebraska October 1 of this year was nearly 10 percent lower than last year. The number of sheep on feed on that date was from 15 to 20 percent less than during. the previous year.
