Officials Arrested On Indictments Grand Jury Give port on Another Indictment Wednesday Evening Joe Tomes and Elmelund former and dent the Nebraska State Bank of Valparaiso, which was closed nearly years ago, were arrested last night indictments turned the grand jury yesterday afternoon. Joe Tomes Acquitted of Falsifying Reports Neb., Jan. STRANGE BUT TRUE On Monday evening Melvin Thompson of Lexington, Nebr., parked his car on the highway north of Wahoo, while he went into a field, and when he returned his car was gone. He had 2 traveling bags, a large suit case, a purse containing $15.00 in money, in the car, and all are gone. He reported same to the Sheriffs office about two and a half hours afterwards and every effort is being made to find the guilty parties. ATTEND CONVENTION Mrs. R. H. Watson, Miss Mary St. Martin and Miss Alberta O'Kane of Ithaca, motored to Fairmont on Tuesday to attend a Woman's Club convention. They were to be guests at a one o'clock luncheon when Miss St. Martin appeared on the program with a talk on "Birds," and Miss O'Kane gave a paper on "Indian Warfare." INJUNCTION SUIT STOPS SHERIFF'S SALE FORECLOSURE Bank Receiver And Former Bankers Stop Sale Of Valparaiso Elevator JUDGMENT FOR $855.51 E. H. Luikart, receiver of the Nebraska State Bank of Valparaiso, and W. C. Elmelund, filed an injunction against L. D. Mengel, sheriff of Saunders County, this week restraining him from selling or offering for sale, the elevator property owned by Tomes and Elmelund. The foreclosure was brought under a judgment for $855.51 secured by the Nye Jenks Grain Co. This was the second time the sale of this property was stopped under a judgment.
