Mr. and Mrs. August Gartner and son Dale returned on Monday evening to their home at Aniwa. They came here to attend the funeral of Anton Varda. Erwin Mathews, phone 218, Hurley, Wis. 3:3-tf A regular meeting of the Hurley Woman's Club will be held at the Memorial building on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Clarence Sealy, chairman of the Indian welfare department of the club, will have charge of the program. The hostesses for the afternoon will be Mrs. H. M. Mark and Mrs. Robert Bertagnoli. Members of the bowling teams of Misses Ida Tonioni and Evelyn Sybeldon entertained the members of the other teams in the women's junior league at a spaghetti dinner at the Memorial building at 6 o'clock on Monday evening. Following the dinner bridge was played at four tables, prizes being awarded to Mrs. George Lambrix and Miss Gertrude Sybeldon. Mrs. James D'Agastino, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lietza of this city, died on Wednesday of last week at the family home in Sheboygan after an illness of three months. Deceased was 24 years of age. Funeral services were conducted at St. Joseph's church in Sheboygan on Saturday morning and interment followed in that city. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lietza and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lietza of this city attended the funeral services. She is survived by her husband, her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Saxon Bank Closes The Saxon State bank at Saxon did not open for business on Monday, following action by its board of directors on Saturday that business of the bank be suspended for a period of 30 days. A representative of the state banking department will take charge of the institution temporarily.
