DEPOSITORS ASK GRAND JURY A new turn to the affairs of the Old Bank of Stoutsville, now in process of liquidation, was taken this week when nineteen depositors joined in a petition for a grand jury investigation. Senator James H. Whitecotton was retained to represent them in whatever litigation may be necessary. Without making any specific charges these depositors profess to believe that their interests were not properly safeguarded while the bank was in operation. The object of the investigation for which they are petitioning, it seems, is to determine if good banking practices were followed or if there was favoritism, recklessness or irregularities of any sort in the making of loans.βAppeal.
