Bank of Jamesport With $233,000 Resources Closed JEFFERSON CITY, Aug. 23.β€”The Bank of Jamesport, in Davies county, was closed today on order of the board of directors, according to announcement by State Finance Commissioner Millspaugh. A. C. Martin of Kirksville, a bank examiner, is on his way to Jamesport to take charge of the institution. The board of directors informed Millspaugh there was a run on the bank yesterday following which they voted to close the institution pending an investigation. The bank has a capital of $15,000 and the last report to the finance department showed resources of $233,000. J. C. Hill is president and I. W. Lively cashier of the bank.

RUN CAUSES JAMESPORT BANK TO CLOSE DOORS The Bank of Jamesport at Jamesport, Daviess County in northwest Missouri has been closed it was announced by the State Finance Department Thursday. The bank was closed late yesterday by the board of directors on account of "run" started by depositors, according to officials of the finance department. A. C. Martin, deputy state bank examiner, who was at Kirksville, Mo., has been sent to Jamesport and will take charge of the bank there Friday. and mule dealing firms of Frank Nugent, Edward Barnett and Rufus Wells at the National Stock Yards here. The mules were to have been consigned to the Spanish government. The fire is believed to have been caused by a spark from a locomotive. The damage is estimated at $75,000 to the barn and $50,000 to the mules. COUNTY JUDGE NAMED Governor Hyde Thursday appointed Wes Winfrey of Toronto, Missouri, Presiding Judge of the County Court of Camden County to fill the unexpired term of John S. McCrory, resigned.

BANK CLOSED BY RUN Jamesport, Daviess County, Bank Is Closed by State Bank Examiner A. C. Martin. JEFFERSON CITY, Aug 23β€”The bank of Jamesport, Daviess County in northwest Missouri, has been closed it was announced by the State Finance Department here today. The bank was closed late yesterday by the Board of Directors on account of a "run" started by depositors according to officials of the Finance Department. A. C. Martin deputy state bank examiner who was at Kirksville, Mo., has been sent to Jamesport and will take charge of the bank today. The capital stock of the bank is listed at $15,000.00, deposits at $100,327.00, and total resources $233,340.36 according to the last statement filed with the Finance Department in April. L. C. Hill is president and L. W. Lively, cashier. No details of the cause of the "run" have been received by the department.
