Many Banks And Trust Companies In State Aided R. F. C. Is Shown in Report to Congress Have Loaned $137,346,000 Last Month By The Associated Press Washington, Oct. 22.—The Reconstruction Finance corporation was shown today in its report to Congress to have loaned $137,346,000 during September. Loans authorized during September to Arkansas banks and trust companies, "exclusive of amounts withdrawn or cancelled during the month," were listed to include the following: Berryville, Peoples State bank, $5,000; Melbourn, Bank of Melbourn, $14,983; Mena, Farmers and Merchants Bank's receiver, $7,000; and Shirley, Bank of Shirley, $1,000.
