CHANGE IN CONTROL OF STUTTGART BANK First State Bank Taken Over Following Run. STUTTGART, Ark., May 31.โ(AP) The First State Bank, a newly organized institution, with a capital of $150,000, today took over the business of the Exchange Bank & Trust Company. The action was taken following a run on the Exchange Bank which impaired its condition. A. B. Banks, president of the American Southern Trust Company of Little Rock, who also is president of approximately 40 other Arkansas banks, heads the new institution. The Exchange Bank & Trust Company has a capital of $200,000, and deposits of between $600,000 and $700,000. J. F. Whaley, who was president of the Exchange, is a vice president of the new institution and all of the other officers were retained. W. B. Wall is active vice president and A. F. Rawlings cashier.
