ASSESSES BANK CAPITAL Receiver Asks Stockholders To Make Good Liability for Peck Bank That there was a deficiency of at least $26,000 in the accounts of the State Bank of Peck at Peck, Kan., which failed April 14, this year, is shown in three suits filed in the local district court Saturday by William Docking, receiver, in an endeavor to collect assessments from stockholders, as provided by the state banking laws. The three suits filed were against H. J. Klassen for $5,800, Ida M. Klassen for $500 and E. L. Stunkel for $500, the equivalent of the amount of stock held by them at a par value at $100 per share. The receiver alleges that the bank was declared insolvent on April 14 by Roy L. Bone, state bank commissioner, and that the assets of the bank, as shown by its books, totaled $66,006.87. He alleges, however, that an investigation showed the assets to be worth no more than $40,000. He further alleges that the bank's records at that time showed liabilities of $66,006.87.
