BIRD CITY BANK CLOSED The Farmers State Bank over at Bird City failed to open its doors yesterday morning. An officer from the state banking department will be placed in charge and will endeavor to straighten out affairs. It is too early at this time to conjecture whether or not the bank will be reopened. Mr. A. B. Nickols, who has been in charge of the bank since it was organized has made a valiant idea that there were irregularities no one will in any way advance the idea that there were any irregularities fight to keep the institution going and where the bank could not realize on some of its loans and so the business had to be closed up. We regret this deeply on account of the good people over at Bird City and on our life time friend, Lon Nickols. It is to be hoped that the affairs can be straightened out so that the depositors will not lose very heavily.—St. Francis Herald.
