SUES BANK RECEIVER Coffin Co. Claims He Won't Pay $171 Preferred Claim Receiver F. F. Boone, of East Tennessee National Bank, and the People's Bank of Johnson City, has been sued in Federal Court by Southern Coffin & Casket Co. for $171.17 alleged due on a check. The casket company claims the bank accepted for deposit just before the bank closed last January a check on the Johnson City bank, but return on the check had not been made when the bank closed. Receiver Boone refuses to pay a preferred claim allowed by the U. S. Comptroller, the bill says.
