DEFUNCT MURFREESBORO BANK PAYS DEPOSITORS Other Checks to Be Issued as Soon as Funds Are Available. (Special to The Tennessean.) Murfreesboro, Tenn., March 10.—James R. Jetton, agent for the receiver for the defunct Citizens' Bank & Trust Co., made the payment of a 25 per cent pro rata dividend to the depositors this week. The sum total amounted to $50,000, exclusive of offsets in obligations to the bank. The checks were passed out to the depositors as they called and checks mailed to a number of patrons at distant points, where requests had been previously filed. Mr. Jetton estimated that he issued about 1,500 checks. The depositors are greatly encouraged by this payment and the promise of others in the near future. They now feel that they will eventually be paid in full. Every effort is being made by Mr. Jetton to wind up the affairs of the bank as speedily as possible.
