BANK AT KINGSPORT FAILS TO OPEN DOORS KINGSPORT, Tenn., June 12 (AP).β€”The Farmers and Merchants' bank of this city failed to open its doors this morning, and H. C. Massengill, cashier, wired the state banking department to take charge of the institution. No reason was given for the bank not opening for business today. State bank examiners are expected tomorrow. Business was carried on as usual up to closing time yesterday. The bank's statement last April listed deposits of approximately $327,000.

NALL IS APPOINTED AS BANK RECEIVER Experienced Banking Executive and Realtor Will be Receiver For Farmers and Merchants Bank John B. Nall, prominent real estate and business man of Kingsport, has been appointed as receiver for the Farmers and Merchants Bank, doors of which were closed and the institution placed in the hands of the state banking department Tuesday, June 11. Mr. Nall has had wide experience in banking business, having formerly been cashier of the Bank of Kingsport and also the Farmers Bank of Sullivan County at Blountville.
