Aid with R.F.C. Fund Refuse to of the county unemployment stablization bureau to authorize aid from funds to improve certain city streets was expressed in H letter received last week by City Clerk J. D. Johnson. In the letter from H. B. Webster, assistant director of the employment stabilization bureau, it was stated that Mr. Cuthbert, coordinator for the Reconstruction Finance corporation, had decreed that the project work enumerated by the recent council resolution was considered a regular city function and was not entitled to federal aid. -Courier.

Worker Falls to Death his balance after his safety belt had become unfastened, J. W. Mattingly, 42year-old Pasadena worker on the Pine canyon dani, fell seventy feet to his death in San Gabriel canyon. He died almost instantly from fractured skull and other injuries.
Office of Bank Receiver Moved Baldwin of the receivership of the Baldwin Park Savings bank were moved from the Chamber of Commerce building last week to the office of the Glendora bank, which is also in charge of the same receiver. The move was made in the interest of economy.

Baldwin Park Track Under Way Baldwin to the invitation of Green to attend the formal ground breaking ceremonies of the Baldwin Park race track, leading business men from this valley gathered at the former Barnes Circus grounds last Saturday. The track, with grandstand, club building and stables is to be located on 220-acre tract between Holt and Garvey avenues just west of Baldwin Park and is to represent an investment of $440,000 according to the builders. It was also announced that employment will be given immediately to 250 men and that work on the track will be rushed NO that all will be in readiness May 15 for the opening of twenty-live day meet that is expected will bring to this section many of the world's greatest racing stables. Temple Temple City Chamber of Commerce, through its officers states that the organization does not take part in politics of any nature, or the advancement of one individual over another, and therefore is not interested in the election of a school trustee in that district and will remain strictly neutral. The Temple National bank also contradicts a rumor that it is interested in the election of a school trustee and officers state that the bank is not sponsoring any particular party as school trustee.-Times.
