Henry Gardner Named as Bank Receiver SPANISH FORK, Jan. 26.—At a meeting of the stockholders of the First National bank this week Henry A. Gardner, assistant cashier of the Commercial bank, was the choice for receiver. Mr. Gardner's name was forwarded to the comptroller of the currency at Washington, D. C. FALSE TESTIMONY CHARGED. OGDEN, Jan. 26.—That testimony which E. J. Wardle gave in a liquor case was false was the charge in a complaint filed in the city court yesterday by County Attorney David J. Wilson. Wardle testified in a liquor case against H. A. Poole that he obtained liquor from an unidentified man. Arresting officers claim they saw Poole put the liquor in Wardle's car when Wardle was present. RELEASE SOUGHT. BOISE, Ida., Jan. 26.—Application for the release of Floyd Munson, committed to the industrial training school last March from Twin Falls, was made to the supreme court late Friday by the boy's mother, Margaret Hoag, and his stepfather, Clyde Hoag. Argument on a writ of habeas corpus will be heard by Judge Ed L. Bryan at Caldwell on February 2. DENTISTS ELECT OFFICERS. LOGAN, Jan. 26.—The Cache County Dental society held its annual meeting and election of officers at a banquet given at the Bluebird Thursday evening. Officers elected were: President, Dr. E. I. Stewart; vice president, Dr. D. D. Tebbs; secretary and treasurer, Dr. W. G. Ruckenbrod. TAKEN ON LIQUOR CHARGE. OGDEN, Jan. 26.—Police officers raided the National hotel Friday and arrested George Anderson. He was booked on a charge of the possession of liquor and released on $500 bond. Officers said that he poured five gallons of moonshine whisky into the sink as they entered, but the gooseneck was removed and a pint obtained as evidence. FACES CHECK CHARGE. OGDEN, Jan. 26.—E. E. Alvord was arrested Friday by Sheriff R. D. Pincock on the charge of issuing a check for $10 to Clarence Brooks without sufficient funds in the bank to pay the check. LEAVES ON MISSION. SPANISH FORK, Jan. 26.—A farewell testimonial will be held at the Second ward chapel Sunday evening in honor of W. Lewis Wilde, who will leave February 2 to fill a mission in New Zealand. CHILD BREAKS ARM. SPANISH FORK, Jan. 26.—Charlotte, the 18 months' old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Beck, fell from a chair Wednesday and broke her right arm.

Bank Receiver Allowed to Dispose of Holdings Judge Tillman D. Johnson, in the federal court yesterday, granted H. A. Gardner, receiver for the Spanish Fork First National bank, permission to sell certain livestock and farm machinery held by the bank. The outfit is valued at $450. Permission is on the condition that the court know of the sale and sanction it.

The First National Bank of Spanish Fork reopened for business Monday with the following officers and directors: President, L. J. Durrant; vice-president, Lars Nielsen; cashier, Henry A. Gardner, board of directors, Carl R. Marcusen, A. B. Morgan, Thomas Williams, E. D. Firmage. The bank suspended business on January 4th of this year, and since that time has been under the control a receiver. Satisfactory arrangements have been worked out between the depositors and the new stockholders. The bank resumes business on a firm and satisfactory basis.
