DEFUNCT BANK IS SUED Indemnity Company Seeks to Recover From Receiver at Vale. Suit was filed in the federal district court here yesterday by the Royal company of New York against the Farmers' Stockof Vale and Schramm, banks. Vale bank closed doors on December 1927, and at that time the state of Oregon had on deposit there The bank bonded by the plaintiff company to the amount of $22, 000 and its share liability for the state deposit was $9545. interest of which the state collected from the plaintiff. The liquidator refused consider the claim the indemnity company prior lien upon the assets, and the suit is now brought to force the ceiver to assets of the institution and satisfy the claim.

BANK DIVIDEND RECEIVED Checks for 12.1 Per Cent of Claims Against Vale Firm Sent Out. Jan. 3.-(Special. SALEM Or. disbursing the final dividend 12.1 per cent on all deposit claims against Farmers Stock Growers bank, insolvent of Vale placed in the mails today by Schramm state superintendent of banks. The dividend aggregated Two dividends aggregating 40 per cent total pre paid, making return viously of 52.1 per on claims filed 350 depositors Preferred $13.469 also have been approved and paid. The bank was placed in the hands of the superintendent of banks liquidation close of business December
