BERGH TO ASK FOR A RECEIVER Madison, Oct. 22. Assistant Attorney General Levi H. Bancroft and Commissioner of Banking Bergh went to Princeton yesterday to make application for a receiver for the bank of Princeton and possibly for the bank of Montello. These are the institutions closed this week by the commissioner of banking upon the discovery of the alleged shortages, forgeries or injudicious investments of the official, J. E. Leimer, who is now under arrest. Examiner Bergh hopes that a receiver for the Montello bank will not be necessary. He does not expect any contest over the selection of a receiver for the Princeton bank and says he has no personal choice, SO long as a suitable man is named. The matter will come before Judge Burnell.
