C., Dec. 20β€”(Special.)β€”The rumor of a merger with a Newbern bank caused a run on the Bank of Vanceboro this week which resulted in the closing of the smaller institution. The corporation commission supervising banking announced that the bank has $60,000 capital and $200,000 deposits.
