Banking Affairs Are Returning to Normal Boyd County State Bank Is Temporarily Under 10% Restriction The county returned nearly to normal after the bank holiday ended and its effects subsided this week. The Boyd County State Bank of Anoka is temporarily under a restriction on withdrawals, which are limited to 10 per cent. The bank had its choice of several plans for immediate reopening and chose to protect its depositors by preventing any possible run on the bank after reopening. The state banking department may raise the restriction, or change it, at any time. The Spencer State bank and the Nebraska State bank of Bristow, had already reorganized, freezing their old deposits, so that no further restrictions at this time were necessary.

The Spencer State bank and the Nebraska State bank of Bristow, had already reorganized, freezing their old deposits, so that no further restrictions at this time were necessary. The First National bank of Butte, the only national chartered institution in the county, was licensed to operate without restrictions, except for the withdrawal of gold or for hoarding purposes. Gold continues to return to the banks, in both coin and currency. The Boyd County State bank reported an amusing incident in respect to turning in gold. Two women, unknown in Anoka, returned gold certificates in the amount of $400, receiving other currency for it. They were careful not to divulge their identities or even show their license plates in front of the bank. Apparently they did not propose to deposit or invest the currency they had obtained.
