Mix thoroughly whipped cream, powdered sugar, vanilla and add bananas. Fill baked pie or tart shells with this mixture. Sprinkle with grated unsweetened chocolate if desired. Serves 6. Irene Sanderson's Good Cake Filling ¾ cup sugar; ¼ cup irradiated evaporated milk; ¼ cup water; ¼ cup nutmeats; ¼ cup seeded raisins, chopped; 1/8 teaspoon salt; ½ cup pasteurized dates; 1 teaspoon vanilla. Place diluted milk and sugar in saucepan. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Boil for about five minutes. Add the fruit, nuts and salt, and boil until the mixture will form a very soft ball in cold water. Cool, add vanilla, and beat until thick enough to spread between layers of cake. Sufficient for one three-layer cake. Illinois Corn Bread 1¼ cups cornmeal; ¾ cup bread flour; 1 teaspoon salt; ½ teaspoon soda; 2 teaspoons baking powder; 1 egg; 2 tablespoons butter; 3 tablespoons dark karo; 1 cup sour milk. Sift together all dry ingredients. Add egg, butter (melted), karo and milk. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Bake in hot oven (400-425 degrees F.) about twenty five minutes. Grandma's Rice Pudding ½ cup rice; 1 quart milk; ½ teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg; 4 tablespoons sugar (white or brown) ½ teaspoon salt. Wash the rice thoroughly, add other ingredients and pour into a greased baking-dish. Bake for 3 hours in a slow oven (285 degrees F.), stirring several times during the first hour. The mixture should not boil. Serve either hot or cold. The long, slow cooking gives the delicious flavor of the old-fashioned creamy pudding. One-half cup of raisins may be added if desired. 6 servings. Pepper Hash Put 1 cup seeded and chopped green peppers and 1 cup seeded and chopped red peppers in bowl with 1 cup chopped onion. Mince finely and drain through colander. Put mixture in saucepan with ¼ to ½ cup sugar, 2 teaspoons salt and 1 cup vinegar. Boil gently for 20 to 30 minutes. Store in glass jars. Makes about 4 cups of relish. Mary Ranney, a school girl of Maynard, Iowa, won a special medal for typewriting at the rate of 4 words a minute, although she has only one hand.

Burrous, her hus- band, for the sum of Four Hundred Sixty and 36/100 ($460.36) Dollars with interest at the rate of seven (7%) per cent per annum until paid, together with the further sums of Thirty and 30/100 ($30.30) Dol- lars interest, Forty-nine ($49.00) Dollars attorney's fees, and Sixteen and 80/100 ($16.80) Dollars costs, with interest on each of said last mentioned sums at the rate of six (6%) per cent per annum until paid, which said sums are, at the date of said writ, actually due on said judgment, and, WHEREAS, I am required to satisfy said judgment for said sums out of the personal property of said defendant, or if sufficient per- sonal property of said defendants cannot be found, then out of the real property in this county belong- ing to said defendants on the day whereon said judment was docket- ed in said County or at any time thereafter, I did, on the 23rd day of June, 1938, levy upon all the right, title and interest of said defend- ants in and to the following describ- ed real property, to-wit: Lot Two (2), Block Four (4) of First Addition to the Town of Casa Grande, ac- cording to map or plat thereof on file and of rec- ord in the office of the co-
